Construction of a large conservation frame, designed for the display of the great Gonfalone depicting the Winged Lion of San Marco at the Querini Stampalia Foundation in Venice. The work, belonging to the Intesa Sanpaolo Collection, is a Venetian manufacture of the late 18th – early 19th century, made of silk with gold and tempera embroidery. In consideration of the fragility of these precious materials, a conservative product has been studied that is able to control and contain the internal microclimatic variations and to support the weight of the product in an homogeneous and safe way on a light but solid support frame slightly inclined.

Planning, designing and building an ad hoc restoration unit inside Room XXVII of the Pinacoteca di Brera art gallery in Milan, to enable conservation work on the unmovable panel painting Dispute over the Immaculate Conception by Girolamo Genga. This project involved building an elaborate metallic support structure to surround the artwork and hold it vertically after removing it from its own frame and throughout all restoration activities. This specific framework/support system for the piece was designed with a view to allowing restorers to work on the front or back of the painting or both at once. The framework also featured an anti-tilt system and wheels, which proved useful in moving the colossal panel easily and in complete safety during restoration. The finishing touch on the project was the addition of metal plates to the struts of the framework to allow suction arms to be mounted. Then, to seal off the environment, a partition wall was made from extra-clear laminated glass, granting visitors to the museum a live view of the restoration as they passed by. Restorers were able to access the back of the unit through an aluminium safety door.

An operation to install passive microclimate control for an altar-niche containing a precious wooden sculpture from the 14th century. For this project, the Arterìa Safe Tech team designed a fibreglass display case with a front closure consisting of a shutter made from special museum-grade acrylic capable of ensuring that the entire system remains air-tight. A lighting system of LED bars was installed inside the display case, as well as a passive microclimate control system to ensure that the ideal conservation parameters for the sculpture were maintained even inside the niche where it was originally housed.
